Healing To Be Done
Lyrics, song, and details of the 37th world-leading trauma healing conference, Boston MA USA, 27-30 May 2026
Healing To Be Done
Am I alive to feel this dark and fearsome joy,
This thrilling oxymoron, to behold and to employ?
And do I breathe to feel the heat now from the sun,
To tell a story of the healing to be done?
Did I contrive to self-destruct a while ago,
A spiraling rewiring and a cheerio to hope?
And what of karma, what of universal truth,
Of myth, abundance, and the folly of my youth?
The weight of self-love becomes lighter every day,
Every moment we discover we’re born good in every way.
The call for grounding takes us all to the sea,
The rivers and the hills and fields, and mountain scenery.
So then to trauma and the transformation keys,
The wisdoms of the elders and embracing of the peace.
The tide is in or out, the song is a child,
The seasons come again, our hearts reconciled.
Notes
Here are details for the 37th gathering of the world-leading trauma healing conference: traumaresearchfoundation.org/lp/37th-annual-boston-trauma-conference/. Maybe this interests you personally, and/or perhaps you know someone who could be interested in this profoundly helpful event.
The picture is a selenite crystal heart, on a grass verge with a daisy. This is symbolic of healing, beauty, nature and loveliness; mindful also that crystals are used as a healing modality and they have a strong healing power in many situations.
A rough phone dem of this song is on my website alanchapman.com/music. I used a capo at the 3rd fret. The chords of the verses are C, G, Dm, Am, F, Am Dm, G. The two other sections (‘And what of karma…’ and ‘The tide is in or out…’) are Em, Am, F, G, Em, Am, F, G.
